Q: What is the difference between Class 3 and Class 4?

Four things. The diverters change from double-piston to triple-piston. The leaf reinforcements have a different layout: one vertical omega plus four horizontal ones in Class 3, and two vertical omegas in Class 4. Class 4 adds a security post to protect the lock. And the Class 4 frame can also be adjusted horizontally. Everything else—the lock, peephole, threshold, and dummy frame—is identical.

Q: How do you arrive at a quote?

We need the dimensions of the opening wall opening, the floor level it’s on, and the layout of the home: based on that, we can determine whether it fits one of the three standard sizes or if a custom size is needed, and which class makes sense. The front door is the only one that is looked at from the outside and the inside. Almost all security doors solve the issue of security and give up the rest: a smooth panel, three colors from the catalog, and a thickness that immediately reveals what lies beneath.

The burglar-resistant structure Art. 141 never changes. The panel that goes over it changes — and the choice there is free.

Class 3 or Class 4: the difference, line by line

Not a single comma changes in what you see. Four things change, and it is the exposure level of the home that decides which of the two is needed: Class 3 for apartments and houses in inhabited areas, and Class 4 for isolated villas and more exposed entrances.

What is the difference between Class 3 and Class 4?

What are the standard measurements?

Clear passage width L 80, 85, or 90 × H 210 cm, with maximum overall dimensions for frame of L 93, 98, or 103 × H 217 cm, for a leaf. For dimensions outside these ranges, the product is manufactured based on the measured opening dimensions.

Can I have the same design for the interior doors?

Yes, and that’s why a FIP armored door makes sense within a FIP project. In addition to the fifteen designs from the IPL Line, you can choose from the thirteen in the Legno range and the designs from the five “Porte dal Mondo” collections. And upon request, the door can be customized with any design of your choice: if you have your own, just send it to us.

Can I have the same finish as the interior doors?

Yes. The fourteen wood-effect finishes of the door are the same as the laminate of the interior doors, so the entrance and the interior doors of the house can have the exact same wood. Alternatively, the door can be lacquered in any RAL color.
