Doors for hospitals and healthcare facilities

Stretchers, carts, aggressive disinfectants, radiation, fire. In a healthcare facility, the door is a device, not a piece of furniture.

Requirements, workshop for workshop

Each environment requires a different performance. This is the chart we use when reviewing a set of specifications.

Wards and corridors

Impacts and daily cleaning

HPL plastic laminate with bumpers: wipe-clean surfaces that do not become dull when exposed to chlorine or alcohol.

X-ray protective door for radiology room
Radiology and diagnostics

Radiation shielding

Lead sheet of 1, 1.5, 2 or 3 mm, sized to the equivalent thickness required by the radiation protection design.

REI fire-rated door certified for emergency exits
Escape routes

Certified fire resistance

REI Doors 30, 45, 60, and 120 with panic bars and complete documentation for testing.

Bathrooms and damp rooms

Humidity and steam

HPL water-repellent and Kubi modular walls: non-porous surfaces, quick installation, minimal maintenance.

The weak point of a hospital door isn't the panel. It's the joints, the edges, and the frame.

These are the details where a generic door gives out after a few years of cleaning with chlorine and alcohol. And it's also the reason why they are only cared for by those who manufacture the door, rather than reselling it.

Radiation protection

Screen inside, ordinary outside

For radiology, CT scans, and diagnostic imaging, we manufacture doors with lead sheeting in thicknesses of 1, 1.5, 2, or 3 mm, sized to match the equivalent thickness required by the project. The shielded panel is integrated into the structure: from the outside, it looks just like any other workshop door, with the same finish.

The documentation arrives with the goods

Healthcare facilities are subject to inspection by the Fire Department. We provide REI doors complete with a declaration of conformity, a test certificate, and installation and maintenance instructions: this is the part that holds up the final inspections when it is missing.

Frequently asked questions

The questions designers ask us

Do your doors resist hospital disinfectants?

Yes: HPL plastic laminate surfaces are designed to withstand frequent cleaning with chlorine- and alcohol-based products without becoming dull or flaking.

Can you make custom-sized doors for an existing structure?

Yes, that is our standard procedure: we produce to order and custom-made, even for replacements in active facilities.

Do you provide the documentation for testing?

Yes: declaration of conformity, fire resistance test certificates and, where applicable, radiological shielding documentation.

Can you work with workshop open?

Yes, by scheduling deliveries in batches and agreeing on replacements with the health management.
